Originally used as a stable and a barn, the building in question was abandoned for 10 years. As a result of its pleasant location right in the centre of this historical village in a fascinating and inaccessible area, the idea of retrieval with a view to a home becomes likely.

The project which aims a dialogue between tradition and innovation foresees a partial restoration of the clad stone walls as well as the typical “piode” roof supported by a wooden structure, highlighting at the same time, through rambles into a more expressive language, one of dark without décor and the metal pergola above the door, features which together, aim at space, denoting the contemporary character of the works. The inside space does however, look at as if it has been completely emptied of its original horizontals and thought out as one-roomed accommodation in duplex, one when the continuity between  the environments is ensured by a passage of the staircase and a perimeter diaphragm of the attic.

Traditional features like stone and wood are openly contrasted like stone and wood with metal and concrete ones are openly in view in a everlasting exchange between the memories  of a rural past and contemporary living.
