A large office space and archive on the last floor of an old factory set in the heart of the Milanese Navigli area is transformed into a home. The vast height of the ceiling and the large openings bring to mind the productive past of this office, underlining a project where space and light become the protagonists. The entrance to the residence is approached from a small, private space transformed into a winter garden thanks to the preciously diffused light coming from large-arched windows.

The living area, which may be considered the very heart of the house takes on the size of a loft but keeps a somewhat “domestic” taste. A double- faced plastic fireplace seperates the living and dining areas.

The kitchen, independent, does however, hang on a certain visual continuity or “on-goingness” with the living space as a result of the large sized crystal door under a rounded arch bought into view along with brick wall, symbols and reminders of the more-than-a hundred year history of this office.

A second over-sized door made of layered laminated plastic leads into the night zone where rationally organized wall-cabinets enhance the spacious effect and quality of the natural whitewash made up of a mixture of plastic with marble and sand powder, wax treated, creating a contrast with the warm mellow colour of the the exceptionally resistant sukupira, an exotic wood especially chosen for all surface and floorings.
